Inspire Others

Inspire Others has evolved through co-design. Our blog post here talks a little about that process. We wanted to expand on the 2nd step of our co-design process – the part that helps our website and storytelling grow the amazing way it has:

The second level was the telling of client stories to create the content for this website -these were developed in a process between one end-user and one clinician – both working together to work out what story the end-user felt they wanted to tell others and how they wanted to tell it. This has resulted in unique ways of storytelling, including a logo design, social media posts, blog posts, videos, images and words that all come together to create this special website.

What we have discovered

So far, most of what is published on the Inspire Others website and social media has happened via a partnership between a person living with neurological condition(s) and an Inspire Others Clinician . We have really thought about the magic of the ‘in-between’ conversations which have resulted in content which is deep and rich with experiences.

We have found that people with neurological conditions want to share tips, ideas and thoughts which have helped them on their journey. Our feedback from people accessing our content is that they want to hear this information too. The problem is that asking anyone to come up with ‘tips’ can result in a list of dry information in which incredible information is diluted into generic suggestions which people have seen and heard before.

We have been able to use our skills as clinicians working in the field of neurological conditions, to listen more carefully to the ‘in-between’. We then reflect back to our co-design partner what they have said in our conversations which might add their unique lived experience more authentically to the content we are working on. We are also aware that the way they describe factors related to their neurological condition (such as memory)- often in beautifully descriptive ways – may resonate with others.

Our 1st anniversary

10th December 2022 marks the one year anniversary of our launch. From the 1st to the 9th December, we will be sharing short videos of people involved in the project on our social media. From the day of our anniversary for the next 10 days, we will be sharing short video clips telling the story of how Inspire Others came to be.

We hope you will see how the short clips of those involve illustrate how we have worked to capture the honest, real and often moving moments in people’s journeys.
